free·dom

/ ˈfrēdəm / noun

What Freedom IS:

The right to speak as I please without being assaulted.

The right to think as I want without unjust constraints.

The right to gather with other citizens without hindrance.

Living without fear of physical danger or fear for your life.

The ability to raise my family as I see fit.

The opportunity to become self-reliant in a stable economy.

Helping my neighbor without coercion of government.

The ability to practice religion as I choose.

Living in a peaceful society that respects my freedom.

Equality under the law.

To have my legal vote counted, and have no non-legal votes counted.

The right to earn income without burdensome taxation.

The ability to raise and educate my family as I think best.

Based on property rights.

The Truth.

Fragile.

“Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than

one generation away from extinction.

It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for

and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes

only once to a people.

And those in world history who have known freedom

and then lost it have never known it again.”

                                                                                                        - Ronald Reagan

What Freedom IS NOT:

Lawlessness.

Majority rules at the expense of the individual.

Intolerance of minority opinion.

Reckless government spending.

Oppressive taxation.

Uncontrolled immigration.

Deception.

Free.

Freedom is not the right to do as you please,

but the liberty to do as you should.

                                                           - Ralph Waldo Emerson
